About the Retreat

I moved to Singapore and couldn't even tolerate the smell of Durian. But, as yoga teaches, we accept with an open mind, heart, and sometimes, an open belly.  Since that first Durian Chendol experience, I’ve embraced it. Coming back to Penang marks a full-circle moment for me. I never cared for it before, but the more I tried it, the more curious I became. A couple of students, and our love for Durian planted the seed (no pun intended) in my head and the rest was this amazing fun time of planning and researching for this mini-retreat.

Why is durian called the King of Fruits? How does it grow? What benefits does it have? Let’s explore this unique Southeast Asian fruit and the peaceful surroundings where it thrives, taking a break from the city hustle to find tranquility in the hills and farms of George Town, Malaysia’s first city.

This mini-retreat was thought of with the idea that some of you may want to stay around George Town, Penang or even Malaysia. Should you wish to do so, please inform Will so we can make necessary transfer arrangements.
